Velin used old archives of female voices (or the voices of people with &#8216;woman&#8217; identification) as raw sound material for a cycle of compositions to be heard exclusively in the museum from February 1 to 23.<\/p>\n<p>In Montreal, this is the second stop on her four-city tour of Europe and Canada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The installation The Irish Room \/ Femmes sonores<\/strong>\u00a0is open to the public: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In addition, there will be four collaborative evenings with the public on Thursdays:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>February 1 \u2013 <strong>Opening reception<\/strong> from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.<br \/>\nFebruary 8 \u2013 thematic slam, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.<br \/>\nFebruary 15 \u2013 thematic slam, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.<br \/>\nFebruary 22 \u2013 <strong>Finishing:<\/strong> presentation of additional material found in Montreal and live performances by guests, who study, manage, or create in their own way performances in dialogue with the archives, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Groups are asked to <a href=\"\/en\/buy-tickets\/\">book their visit<\/a> in advance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jo-Anne Velin, journalist, filmmaker and sound artist born in Montreal, was invited to bring her very playful and exploratory sound salon to the museum!
