Collection Rationalization Process
The curatorial committee of the Musée des Ondes Emile Berliner, located in Montreal, has initiated a process to rationalize its collection. This initiative is part of a desire to refocus the museum’s activities on its core mission. As part of this process, an identification of artifacts with “duplication” was carried out to identify objects likely to be removed from the collection.
Items for Sale
It has been decided that several items, including radios, gramophones, electronic measuring devices, and other equipment, will be put up for sale. These sales will take place in two distinct ways:
Online auctions
- Lots from the collection are offered for online auction every Wednesday at the Maison des Encans.
- To participate or view the lots, visit: https://live.encans.pro/.
- The first auction, corresponding to Wednesday, October 15, is already available online.
- It is important to note that not all of the 240 lots auctioned each Wednesday by the Maison des Encans come from the Musée des ondes Emile Berliner. Participants will therefore have to identify the radios and technical objects from the museum themselves from the list provided.
On-site sales
- Two weekends will be dedicated to on-site sales of other items.
- Location: 976 Lacasse Street, Room B118.
- Dates: November 8, 9, 15, and 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Free parking will be permitted in the Allied parking lot located behind the building.
- Payment for items will be made on-site, by cash or card, and buyers must remove the items the same day.
