The award recognizes individuals and organizations who deepen the understanding of the past by highlighting lesser-known stories, and encouraging meaningful public dialogue around history. The museum has received the award for the project of the Centennial of Broadcasting in Canada. Specifically, the award recognizes the online presentation at radio.moeb.ca for the innovative, participatory and educational aspects of the project.
